Transactional Services Assistant
Role Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Transactional Services team. This role is focused on delivering a high-quality service to the business, with key responsibilities including the scanning and processing of high volumes of supplier invoices, matching invoices against purchase orders and goods receipts, responding to supplier queries via telephone and email, completing supplier statement reconciliations, raising sales ledger invoices across all group companies, and supporting effective debt collection processes.
Key Responsibilities / Deliverables
Process invoices through various workflows, ensuring exceptions are resolved and invoices progress to payment
Scan and validate invoices using KOFAX into the invoice storage system
Reconcile supplier statements using available systems, both proactively and reactively
Prepare payment runs, ensuring all payments are validated and comply with strict audit requirements
Load wholesale invoices in line with schedules provided by finance
Collaborate with Transactional Services Supervisors to analyse reporting outputs, identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Reconcile and allocate incoming cash daily, posting to the sales ledger and resolving discrepancies
Perform monthly reconciliations of cash and sales ledger invoicing, including income streams such as Developer Services and Searches
Support cash flow optimisation through effective credit control and debt collection, following agreed escalation processes
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in Purchase Ledger and/or Sales Ledger
Ability to work flexibly and perform well under pressure
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Strong numeracy skills
Good verbal communication skills
Professional and courteous telephone manner

Desirable:
Relevant finance or accounting qualification (or working towards one)
