South West Water has a great opportunity for a Test Manager to join our IT Team based in either Exeter, Bristol, or Redhill. This is a permanent full time with a salary ranging from £45,000 - £55,00 plus benefits.

The role

As Test Manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and controlling all testing activities across our Salesforce platforms and related IT solutions. The role ensures that all platform changes – whether business-as-usual or project-based – meet quality standards through structured testing governance. 

You will have opportunity to play a critical role in enabling continuous improvement, platform recency, and data integrity by collaborating closely with architecture, solutions, and data teams. 

What you’ll be doing

• Own and lead the testing strategy, process, controls, and reporting.

• Act as control for UAT and Production scheduled releases from Salesforce and supporting managed package applications, ensuring only high-quality, approved changes are deployed.

• Lead the implementation of test automation and machine learning-based testing approaches to improve quality assurance.

• Define appropriate test methodologies, tools, and metrics across projects and product sets.

• Manage test resources and environments, including third-party providers and internal teams, from time to time this may include overseing & setting testing strategies for outsourced partner testing during large-scale project delivery

• Support programme and project teams by resolving testing-related issues and risks.

• Provide clear documentation and reporting of test results, stage gates, and quality indicators.

• Work with architecture and data teams to ensure appropriate datasets and solution integrity for testing purposes.

• Deliver test outcome analysis to inform platform capability, data quality, and business readiness.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in a Test Management role.

• Proven experience in Salesforce testing.

• Track record of successful continuous improvement project delivery.

• Experience managing test processes in high-pressure environments.

• Strong people management and cross-functional collaboration experience.

• Ideally experience with test automation tools and strategies and background in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments with exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and software development life cycles.

• Ideally ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Management and training in Lean practices, Testing, or Data Management
